City Of Lights släpper nytt album i oktober
Fredagen den 26:e oktober släpper AOR-projektet City Of Lights med gitarristen/låtskrivaren Neil Austin och sångaren Manos Fatsis (Odyssey Desperado/Hideaway i spetsen ett nytt album via bolaget Pride & Joy Music. Ett första smakprov från den kommande plattan presenteras den 31:e juli.
CITY OF LIGHTS formed in 2018 when British songwriter/rhythm guitarist Neil Austin reached out to Greek vocal sensation Manos Fatsis to see if he would be interested in singing on some demos. The chemistry was instant and Austin decided he needed a stellar rhythm section to really do the songs justice. On a whim, he messaged the rhythm section of his favourite band, Swedish modern melodic maestros Degreed. Much to his surprise, Robin Eriksson (Bass) and Mats Eriksson (Drums) both instantly agreed. Their debut album “Before The Sun Sets” was released in Feb 2022 to critical acclaim. After featuring on a number of songs on this first album, Austin’s long-time friend, British guitar virtuoso Nathan Doyle officially joined as lead guitarist, completing the line-up. „City Of Lights“ is an album full of classic melodic highlights featuring a tour-de-force performance from Fatsis on lead vocals, showcased here to the full extent of his abilities and explores a number of topics: dreams gone bad, grief, human imperfection, mental health, love, friendship and the joy of musical family, all delivered in an anthemic, melodic masterpiece that hits all the required notes. The crunching riffs, huge harmonies, soaring guitar solos and epic vocals are all there, but underpinned with a real sense of originality and identity. A musical roller-coaster, it features upbeat rockers (“Just Like Yesterday”, “One More Night”), melodic anthems (“Beautiful & Broken”, “We’re A Family”), prog-influenced adventures (“City Of Lights”,”Unbreakable”,”Masquerade”) and reflective, slow-paced ballads (“Learn To Live”,”Care For You”).
