Fredagen den 18:e september har det blivit dags för Tak Matsumoto Group att ge ut nya albumet ”II”. Detta är deras första platta på 20 år. Så här går att läsa i ett pressmeddelande:

TMG (Tak Matsumoto Group), which has announced it will be restarting with its original members for the first time in 20 years, has announced that its new album, “TMG II,” will be released on September 18th.

This new album, the first in 20 years since their last album, features not only Takahiro Matsumoto’s solid and delicate guitar playing, but also Eric Martin’s vocals, which sing melodic melodies emotionally, and Jack Blades’ bass and vocals, which add aggressive excitement to the songs. The 20 years in which each member has continued to work at the forefront of the band’s activities has not been a hiatus for the band, but rather a period of preparation for the unique TMG rock sound to gain even more power, making this a powerful second album.

The recording of this work includes already announced touring band members such as Matt Sorum, who has worked with Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, on drums, and Yukihide “YT” Takiyama, who is well known for his recording and live support of B’z, on guitar and arrangements, as well as Daniel Ho, who released the collaborative album “Electric Island, Acoustic Sea” with Matsumoto in 2017, and Jeff Babko, who also showed off his brilliant sound on Matsumoto’s solo album “Bluesman.”

The album will include 10 tracks, including “CRASH DOWN LOVE,” with its catchy melody that seems to symbolize the new TMG sound, “GUITAR HERO,” for which Jack wrote the lyrics with Tak (Matsumoto) in mind, and “ETERNAL FLAMES,” which features guest appearances by BABYMETAL, the metal dance unit that is expanding its activities worldwide, and features a fast-paced exchange with Eric that makes the album a pleasure to listen to. Matsumoto himself is proud of this, saying, “I was able to create a work that I can be satisfied with together with my wonderful band members.”

The PREMIUM EDITION includes a Blu-ray of the complete Zepp Tokyo performance from the 2004 national tour “TMG LIVE 2004 “Dodge The Bullet””. The Blu-ray is a reconstructed version of the live footage from the Zepp Tokyo performance recorded on the 2004 DVD “TMG LIVE 2004 -Dodge The Bullet-” with unreleased footage added, making this a must-see, immersive live performance. In addition, the limited edition comes with a metal photo frame with an artist photo and the members’ autographs printed on a copper plate. It is a special item that evokes the heavy sound of TMG.

The day after the album’s release, TMG’s long-awaited nationwide tour “TMG LIVE 2024 -Still Dodging The Bullet-” will begin. Look forward to the new album and the hot performances by top Japanese and American artists.
